What is the Office of Grants and Contracts?

The Office of Grants and Contracts provides professional and timely assistance to faculty, students, and staff in their pursuit of externally funded research and sponsored programs. We support faculty, students, and staff through the myriad of funding agency requirements and can assist with identification of funding opportunities, proposal planning and processing, budget preparation, internal review and submission of proposals, award acceptance, new project orientation, compliance, expense monitoring, ongoing project and award management, obtaining organizational signatures and approvals, and grant close-out. We serve as the administrative and financial liaison between Alliant Educational Foundation and sponsors, enhancing the capability of Alliant Educational Foundation to generate and administer external awards for educational, research, public service, and scholarly activities. Grants and Contracts is the first point of contact once a faculty member, student, or staff member identifies a sponsor and begins to develop a proposal. The key to a successful proposal submission is to notify the Grants and Contracts staff as soon as possible for guidance and support.
