As part of a new pilot project funded by the Alliant Educational Foundation to foster innovative programs, research, publications, and/or enhancements within the Alliant system, the foundation recently announced $55K in funding for seven worthy projects across Alliant’s six California campuses for 2019 – 2020.

These grants offer one-time funding for new initiatives proposed and led by current faculty and/or staff. The funding is for one-time “seed” grants intended to help launch new ventures and was available across the Alliant system to all campus locations and any department within the system. A full press release summarizing some of the key projects will be forthcoming.

Mental Health Consortium Update

hands business

The foundation has been working to build new bridges between CSPP-San Diego practicum students in clinical psychology and local non-profits addressing some of the region’s most pressing mental health needs for infants, children, and young adults. With the goal of supporting a new mental health consortium in the area, the foundation has identified at least 8 organizations across San Diego County that would like to participate.

While helping to build these new relationships, the foundation will also be seeking to hire a handful of licensed psychologists for a minimum of 7 hours per week (up to a maximum of 21 hours per week) to serve as clinical supervisors to practicum students.
